The Samsung Galaxy mobile phones are undoubtedly one of the most popular mobile phone series in India. Balancing the latest in mobile technologies and telecom developments with competitive pricing and attractive designs, the Samsung Galaxy mobile phones are hitting the right note with mobile phone users across India. The Samsung Galaxy J6 and Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime are currently leading the charge in the Indian mobile phone market.
The Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime, as the name suggests, is a more advanced variant. However the Samsung Galaxy J6 continues to hold sway over the market. The two mobile phones have much in common, so choosing between the Samsung J7 Prime and the Samsung J6 can be something of a challenge. Let’s take a closer look at the two phones.

Samung Galaxy J7 Prime vs. Samung Galaxy J6
The Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime is a good phone in terms of the day-to-day experience: the typical mobile phone user will find the performance satisfactory. In that vein, the battery life of the J7 Prime is also good, and most users will find that it lasts them through a full day of use; however, the need for a more rapid charging support system has been identified.
Right off the bat, one of the more obvious differences between the two phones J7 Prime and J6 is an aesthetic one: the J7 Prime feels noticeably more luxe and solid with its metal unibody as compared to the Samsung J6’s relatively lighter polycarbonate structure. Another advantage that the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime has over the Samsung Galaxy J6 is the added screen security with its Corning Gorilla Glass 4 feature along with the excellent 401PPI display. The J6, on the other hand, offers a lower 294PPI quality but makes up for it with its Super AMOLED display.
The Samsung Galaxy J6 scores a few points over the J7 Prime in terms of camera specs and the photography experience. The front camera comes equipped with its own LED flash, making it a hit with the selfie-loving consumer base. The J6 also ranks higher than the J7 Prime when it comes to additional phone security features: the J7 Prime has a fingerprint scanner whereas the J6 has both fingerprint scanner and face recognition services. Both the J7 Prime and the J6 leave something to be desired in terms of the rear camera performance. In the case of the J6, the rear camera has garnered average reviews with most users.
For the J7 Prime, a common complaint is that the rear camera cannot record 4K videos and the quality of photographs shot in low light conditions needs to be improved.
A ‘Samsung J7 Prime vs. Samsung J6’ debate really has no clear winner, though most tech industry pundits would agree that the J7 Prime is a marginally superior phone in terms of daily performance while the J6 boasts some flashier features. The results of this particular tossup really come down to user discretion.
The Samsung Galaxy J series also offers some other variants, such as the Samsung Galaxy J7 (still one of the more popular choices in the Indian mobile phone market), Samsung Galaxy J7 Duo, Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime 2, Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro, Samsung Galaxy J7 Nxt, and the Samsung Galaxy J7 Max. The latest variant, the Samsung Galaxy J8, is also making waves in the market.
